Fooling Around
By all means I'm not even supposed to be doing this in this hour
If only the GDE knew, I could very well not wake up with any intention to punch in at the office tomorrow.
But I can't help any of it, I love to draw
So this is what i got up to during my lazy hour today
More like practice. Haven't been drawing in a while since I've been on this ESSP position
And to my suprise, I figure I still got some of it right?
I know I can't have it all but I haven't gotten that rusty either.
But I admit I could be so much better, had I only been drawing all this time. But it's alright. Somethings we want to do and some we got to do.

Work in Progess
Wow. Some of my best work. I'm as excited to right about it as I was drawing this piece.
It had been a long time not drawing when I made this and for some reason I just felt like flowing with the pencil. Intuitive drawing, some would call it.
I thought to myself, why not draw something I not only see, but also think about all the time.
And there she was at the entrance memory bank.
I tell you nothing and no one occupies your mind more than the one you love.
Refiloe Sesi Masimini. She calls herseld The Royale Dimple, The call her Relo. But She is simply put, the woman of my dreams. who lives in my reality, which is crazy given the sound of that.
She was around when I drew this but had no idea I was drawing this. Only when I was almost done did she spot it and seeing her reaction, I knew I had killed it.
They say pictures are worth a thousand words but her response to this drawing alone could match that, if it were a contest.
I wonder if I'll surpass this next time I make a drawing of her, but that is the aim. To get better with every piece.
Until the though, This remains the ultimate Bongzzy Bongz Drawing.

This is, Paballo Tsiane.
This is, Paballo Tsiane. Had a serious neck for turning her pictures into drawings.
You may ask, why even bother, and what's it to me?
Well, I think most of you know about a boy by the name of Bongani who fell in love with Paballo Tsiane.
It was distance romance so as you can probably guess, I just loved watching her photos and reminiscing on the good times we had. But there is one other thing I enjoyed staring at just as much as I did watching her pictures. Yes, my drawings.
So to me, turning these pictures into drawings allowed me to stare at the two things I loved staring at the most at once. So there, that's the primary reason.
This is how the drawing turned out when I stopped working on it. Grey scale with a dash of brown in the background, and the blue on the pillow the lady nicely laying on
And here it was just I doing some editing, playing around adding some final touches to the digital version of the drawing. Had mad fun doing this as I certainly do with all my drawings.
Loved it.

I cry, You cry, We all cry. Sometimes.
These Aren't Tears of Joy!
feel like letting them out. This drawing was to represent the outward manifestation of what was going on inside. I was broke, had nothing I woke up to. No job, business wasn't going well either. I tell you, I felt like punching a wall to the ground.
But not when there were constructive means of expressing the hurt I carried with me day in and day out. And that's when I had a mental light bulb. If I can't let them down my cheeks, I sure can draw it. And so I did.
I hope the colors say it all. I was still on my grey scale with colors.
So this is how it looked when it was all done!
What do you think?

My Girl Masabata Molaoa
I lived in the same block as her in Hennenman, my hometown.
She was one of a kind I tell you.
That kind of girl we on our block defined beauty by.
she turned heads. She made every guy in my
crew feel they could speak better poetry than Shakespeare.
And yes, I had the privilege to befriend her.
She is very sensitive and more on the cautious side, or
at least she was then. So in case you wondering if
I did try my luck, the answer is hell yes.
But the only thing she picked up from me is that I have
a sweet mouth and therefore she couldn't tell whether
what I uttered was real or not. So she couldn't
trust me and that was fair enough for me.
And that's how Masta, as we call her, and myself became
friends.
That's when I learnt, she has the sweetest heart. She just likes
hearing me go on about my love life.
And I on the other hand, just being in her presence
was enough for me since I couldn't get any more
than friendship.
So I made this drawing of her out of remembrance of our
friendship and to show the world the beauty
my hometown has. Carefully picked the color of the background
and the butterfly to express her femininity.
Making this drawing was just joy, 'specially after the reaction I
got from her after she saw it for the first time.
Hey Masta, hope you're well:)

A Glimpse of African Beauty
This here is Refiloe Masimini.
She, is the mother of my child and the bone of my bones
The drawing is adopted from one the many pictures we took of her
enjoying the solitude of nature out in the farms,
away from the everyday hustles of township life
With Graphite on Sketch Pad
I enjoyed doing this so much I didn't know whether to finish it or leave it incomplete
It looked complete either way
So I left it here, but it may not stay in this state forever

My Love For Converse
Originally this was just practice, on A4.
But a friend of mine really liked it and asked me to make
a larger version for him. So I took it up to A2
Just black pen.
Much as I love pencils, I crave change intensely every once in a while
Art for me is about exploring and so, even with different medium I like to Explore

Long Hard Road
I just cannot stress this enough
I'm a hopeless romantic so, you're bound to see these every now and then
A portrait that explains the relationship between to souls willing to go to the
ends of the earth with/for one another
This is the early stages of the relationship, which starts out a little rocky
showing sparks of all the obstacles they may face together
The knowledge that as long as they go through it all together is all matters,
being the prime motivator for them to go on

Still Life For a Change
I like to make drawings of people I come into contact with everyday
The ordinary people like you and me.
They touch my heart and I touch theirs and for that
I care deeply for them
But that alone gets tiring and change becomes necessary
All life is all life, not just mankind and so all life must be cherished
So I decided to do this still life drawing, probably because I'm a hopeless romantic
But that's ok, That is me
This is unfinished and it's Charcoal on Sketch Pad

For The Babies
Well I must admit that I have no personal relation with this particular baby. The mother used to be a colleague of a friend and she asked me to do the drawing for her and I just couldn't say no.
Not to art
Had to draw this from a reference photo. It was basically a picture of the baby laying down on what seemed like a flat pillow with some decorations which I choose to use as my background
Also choose to use a pink crayon for the baby's binnie and dress to make would be a grey scale drawing with a dash of color on it
And the results I got to say,
I Love it

One For Love Birds
Met this couple on Twitter and on the spot,
they just asked me to do something for them as well
And, being me I just could never decline
It was supposed to be a quick sketch and for that reason, charcoal was best
suited for the job
And the result, bold but light on the touch

My Head Looks Like This Inside
Wanderer.
I'd call mind that if I didn't know any better.
Didn't have anything specific that I wanted to draw, but I did need to hold the pencil in my hand.
Feel the surface of the sketch pad against my palms.
So I just went on and let my mind run lose,
and this what it came up with
I've always been fascinated with pattern and recurrence, small shapes, big shapes.
And how the merger of two identical or nonidentical shapes, can form a whole new shape
And this is how the final piece looks

It's a Birthday Thing
For a friend of mine Phindile from Jhb
This is just to show you that I'm gratified by how you touch my life
Hope you had the best one yet

Incomparable Bond
It's nothing new yet with every Bond, there's something magically new.
Some of us grew up in homes with this picture in them.
And to me it always symbolized the ultimate expression of life. You know, one cell carried down from one generation to the next.
Every parent has that hope and faith that something major will be realized some years later, through, their child. Well maybe not all but most right
And this is why we love them kids some much that we develop this simplest of bonds can never compared with any other thing earthly
And this is why I had to have my own representation of the picture.
This is purely pencil on sketch paper

Little Hommies
Mambushu
A little hommie from the block
He is about 5 and man is he a piece of work
This guy, his name often pops up whenever there's trouble in the block. He's a trouble maker with a capital T
But I like him, because there's a certain beauty in all that. He has a strong character that just defies the odds
You can always count on him to do/say something totally unpredictable
And so I put him in my sketch book.
This is a charcoal drawing

A Friendly Face
A very good friend since High School
Palesa "Mbali" Modisaesi. She would be my friend forever
Been in the Debate together, and shared a class on a few
instances.
Even Matriculated together
She is the bomb
So I wanted to do something to acknowledge
our friendship
You will always be one of the people I cherish
in this life and any other life there is

First Landscape Drawing
Inspired by the African bush and wildlife
This here is my story, of my connection with nature and Africa which I love so much, and call home
It's basically a pencil sketch with some crayon to give it that warm sunset feel
